CAPE TOWN - Popular First Thursdays event hosted every first Thursday of the month is set to return tomorrow in Cape Town.

The Covid-19 pandemic has forced the cancellation of many social events, but as restrictions begin to ease, some are making their return with limited programmes and with many changes put in place to prioritise the health and safety of visitors.

First Thursdays is an event that focuses on the exhibition of art that takes place within art galleries, restaurants, bars, shops and cultural attractions opened to the public after hours and into the night time. The initiative is aimed at promoting the arts and injecting life into the urban spaces of Cape Town and Johannesburg.

With a limited programme, First Thursdays make a return to Cape Town CBD after 6 months of absence with the full programme viewed here.

Due to the curfew, most venues will be closing their doors at 8pm with other measures put in place to assure the safety of visitors includes venues controlling the flow of access allowing only a limited amount of viewers in at a time with the organisation asking visitors to please be patient as this may create queues urging all those interested in attending to maintain safe physical distancing and to wear a mask at all times.
