16 433 Covid-19 infections, 22 new deaths recorded

DURBAN -

South Africa's Covid-19 infections have increased by 918 today, bringing the total to

16 433. Fatalities in the country now stand at 286, up by 22

and recoveries have risen to 7298.

The number of tests conducted is 475 071 with 14 198 in the last 24 hour cycle.

Minister of Health Zweli Mkhize said

"As we prepare for the easing of lockdown regulations high risk age groups and those with co-morbidities such as hypertension, diabetes, cardiac disease, obesity and people living with HIV must take extra precautions and necessary steps to avoid possible exposure to Covid-19."
