CAPE TOWN- South Africa has recorded 44 more Covid-19 related deaths, bringing the total to 952, while the cumulative number of confirmed cases is 45 973, an increase of 2 539.
Of the latest deaths Health minister Zweli Mkhize said that 25 are from the Western Cape, 6 in KwaZulu-Natal, 7 in Gauteng, and 6 in the Eastern Cape.
Mkhize said that while South African records Covid-19 deaths daily, the country’s mortality rate remains at 2% which is below the global average of 6%.
The recoveries to date stand at 24 258, translating to a recovery rate of 52.8%.
