CAPE TOWN- The cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in South Africa now stands at 55 421, an increase of 2 430, while 48 more deaths have been recorded, bringing the total to 1210.
Of the latest deaths, 37 are from Western Cape, 9 from Eastern Cape, and 2 from KwaZulu-Natal. The country’s mortality rate is 2,2%.
Health minister Zweli Mkhize said that recoveries to date are 31 505, which translates to a recovery rate of 56.8%.
