70 more Covid-19 deaths, 61 927 cases

CAPE TOWN- South Africa has recorded 70 more Covid-19 related deaths, bringing the total to 1 354, while confirmed cases now stand at 61 927, an increase of 3 359.

Of the latest deaths, 39 are from the Western Cape, 30 from the Eastern Cape and 1 from Limpopo.

Health minister Zweli Mkhize said that 1 060 425 tests have been conducted to date and that recoveries are now at 35 008, which translates to a recovery rate of 56.5%.
