Covid-19 cases in SA breach 70 000

CAPE TOWN- 57 more deaths have been recorded in South Africa, bringing total number of deaths is 1 480, while a jump in cases of 4 302 brings the cumulative number of cases to 70 038.

Of the latest fatalities, 42 are from Western Cape, 10 from the Eastern Cape, and 5 from KwaZulu Natal.

Health minister Zweli Mkhize said recoveries to date are 38 531, which translates to a recovery rate of 55%, while the mortality rate is 2.1%.
