CAPE TOWN -
Workers diagnosed with Covid-19 and have isolated for the 14-day period will not be required to test positive for them to return to work.
This is according to a directive issued by the Department of Labour.
It is believed that the new order would help in easing the pressure faced by laboratories across the province.
The department’s occupational health and safety chief inspector Tibor Szana
said there are five conditions that must be considered.
Here are the conditions:
If workers have completed 14 days of mandatory self-isolation.
Workers who had moderate or severe symptoms undergo a medical evaluation.
If the worker continues to practice personal hygiene and social distancing.
The employer monitors the worker to ensure that they do not regress.
Workers should wear a surgical mask from the date of diagnosis for a period of at least 21-days.
