Mpumalanga records first Covid-19 death

CAPE TOWN- Mpumalanga has recorded its first Covid-19 death, while 45 more deaths were recorded in the Western Cape bringing the total number to 998. Cumulative cases now stand at 48 285, an increase of 2 312.

Health minister Zweli Mkhize said that the recoveries to date are 24 364 which translates to a recovery rate of 50,5%.

Global Covid-19 cases neared 7 million on Sunday, with recoveries at 3,419,548, a 48.8% recovery rate.
