DIY Treats: Churros

Churros

This traditional Spanish style dessert can be eaten hot or cold, which either whipped cream or ice cream. It is simple to make for the entire family to enjoy.

Ingredients:

• 1 Cup Water

• 2 tbsp Sugar

• 1/2 tsp Salt

• 6 tbsp Butter

• 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

• 2 Eggs

• Vegetable Oil

• 1 Cup Flour (all purpose)

• Cinnamon Sugar

• Chocolate Chips

In a pot on medium heat, add water, butter and sugar. Once the mixture starts to boil, add vanilla extract and mix. Take the pot off the stove and add flour and salt. Mix well until the mixture thickens. Leave the mixture to cool for 10 minutes. Add the eggs and mix with a hand mixer. Add the mixture to a piping bag. Place a large pot on the stove with vegetable oil in it on medium heat. Pipe the mixture into the pot at the length you want. Remove the churros and roll them in cinnamon sugar. Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave and add them to a piping bag. Pipe the melted chocolate into the fried churros.
