The lockdown can be as difficult and stressful for your pets as it is for you.

Similar to their human counterparts, pets may experience stress or worse, depression, if they are cooped up inside for too long.

Here are some creative ways to keep your pets occupied during the Covid-19 lockdown:

Structure your day

-This goes for both you and your pet. Be clear about it. Stick to it. A structured day is a good antidote against cabin fever.

Potty train your pet

- Now that you really have all the time to focus on the task if applicable

Teach your pet a trick a week

- And journal your progress on IG.

Don’t let your pet get fat.

No freebies. Feed your dog only half his portion every meal.

Reward desirable choices with the good stuff

-

Make this your project: First, create really yummy homemade treats for your dog.

Proper clean up and disposal of animal poop should not be neglected because animal droppings can contain parasites and germs such as roundworms, hookworms etc. that are harmful to people, especially children.

If the animal must relieve indoors, the animal droppings should be immediately removed (bagged), properly disposed of, and have the area disinfected. Using a newspaper as a designated spot is also advised. For cats, owners are advised to have their litter box cleaned daily to lower the chances of exposure to harmful parasites.
