CAPE TOWN- Many South African companies who once relied on face-to-face marketing and sales prior to the Covid-19 global pandemic now have the opportunity to make use of a specialised virus reporting and screening app designed for field agents and sales executives.

Skynamo has announced the release of their new app called the

Daily Clock-in Screening Form. Industries or businesses that require face-to-face engagement for sales are able to protect their employees and remain aligned with the rules for occupational health and safety as outlined by the South African Department of Employment and Labour.

Founder & CEO of Skynamo, Sam Clarke said the application gives the business a detailed record of the field agents movements and this information can be used for contact tracing.

“For those high performing, active field sales managers and business owners, it’s an effective tool to returning to work in the business as ‘newsual,’” he said.

Face-to-face sales and marketing gives companies a competitive advantage, but business owners must not risk the health and safety of its employees. The app potentially opens up opportunities for businesses that have been severely affected in a landscape defined by social distancing and minimal contact.

“The field sales agents log into the app from the moment that they start the day and it asks a series of questions, that can be customised, pertaining to the virus,” says Clarke.

“These questions include asking the employees temperature, general health, a cough – the basic checklist for the symptoms of the disease. Most companies take these details down when the employee enters the building – their temperature is taken and they’re asked a series of questions. For those in the field, this isn’t possible which is where the app comes in,” he said.

This not only ensures detailed record keeping, but it also ensures that legal procedures are tightly followed in the event that the agent does get ill and needs to apply for worker’s compensation.

Earlier this year Skynamo received R431 million Series-A Funding. The company has now used some of this funding to help sales and marketing agents to continue to earn an income and help businesses to stay alive while keeping teams safe.
