CAPE TOWN -

SANParks announced the re-opening of all its parks except for Boulders, Cape Point and the Namaqua National Park.

As from Monday, June 8, only day visitors will be allowed during the level 3 national lockdown.

“We appreciate that after two months of confinement, the public is keen to engage with nature and the excitement as shown by inquiries,” said SANParks chief executive Fundisile Mketeni.

“We are obligated to ensure that the opening of our national parks for self-drive excursions is done under the strictest health protocols and are limiting face-to-face contact between staff and guests,” he said.

Gate quotas for the Kruger National Park have been revised to only allow one-third of visitors to what has been allowed in prior to Covid-19, and three-time slots for arrival will be introduced.
