Photographer shoots drive-by portraits to raise funds

CAPE TOWN - Cape Town-based photographer has found a creative way of continuing her business and raise funds for those in need.

Daniela Zondagh started ‘Lockdown2020 Driveby Portrait’ project in the Cape Town area where she snaps family portraits from her Vespa (Scooter) keeping a safe physical distance providing clients with a souvenir photograph capturing the current times.

With each portrait, Zondag donates to Phillisa Abafazi Bethu which is an organisation that feeds the less fortunate in Lavender Hill.

The photoshoot takes place in the front of the family's homes, requesting that they do not go any further than the sidewalk or even stand on their balconies or windows while Zondagh shoots from the street without leaving her scooter.

The photography industry has been hit-hard by lockdown, making it a difficult time for photographers to make any form of income. This is a great initiative, as it finds a creative solution to restrictions while contributing to feeding those in need.
