CAPE TOWN -

IT-biased private school Rallim Preparatory School will stream a live virtual open day on their Facebook page to prospective parents and pupils using drones.

Pre-Covid-19, families would visit the campus to learn more about culture, their ethos and modern learning environment.

However, due to the global pandemic, drones will be flown in and around the school buildings and nine hectares of grounds to do the virtual tour.

“imes have changed but all is not lost though. Thanks to the rise of live web chats, Zoom and video content, an online open day is fast becoming far more commonplace,” read a statement by the school.

“It's with this in mind that Rallim will be hosting their first official online Open Day on the 15th of August. The conventional Open Day is a ‘thing of the past’ so we can expect to be taken on a fly-by experience and see first hand the Rallim campus through the lens of a drone.”

The virtual open day will be streamed from 10:00 on their Facebook page
