CAPE TOWN - DARG (Domestic Animal Rescue Group) has launched a doggo cookbook called 'Bake and Bark' in efforts to raise funds with 100 percent of all proceeds going directly to the animal shelter.

DARG is an NPO situated in Hout Bay that rescues abandoned, abused and neglected cats and dogs with a pro-life stance aiming to find rescued animals in need loving homes.

"The Doggies at DARG took this time to create something exceptional for you guys. They curated dog-friendly recipes for their doggo friends and made a cookbook because during this time we all need a spoil now and then. Home cooking is the perfect way to do just that" said DARG on Facebook.

The cookbook consists of over 20 doggy treat recipes with the organisation saying "Whether you are a master chef or just a pet lover, Bake and Bark will guide you to make delicious meals and treats that will keep your dog's tail waggin'".

DARG says the purpose of the book is not to convert your dog's diet but to simply broaden the horizons as a dog owner with the book sharing plenty of ideas with delicious recipes for doggy treats with a stamp of approval from Jo Scott, the well-known UK based Animal Behaviour Therapist and Trainer.

"Support DARG by purchasing Bake and Bark, as 100 percent of all the proceeds go directly to the pooches here at the shelter, to make their stay as comfortable as possible," the organisation asks. The doggy recipe book costing only R220 with the first 100 customers receiving a free baking mitten.

Other than supporting by ordering the Bake and Bark book, all donations are welcomed too.
