CAPE TOWN- New coronavirus regulations in England have made it illegal for people from different households to have sex indoors and stay overnight.

The amendment to the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) Bill states that gatherings of two or more people who live in different households is illegal.

According to the Bill, “no person may participate in a gathering which takes place in a public or private place outdoors, and consists of more than six persons, or indoors, and consists of two or more persons”.

If anyone were to be found breaking the law they could face a fine of up to £100.

The regulations state that only people who live together may gather. The only exceptions to the rule are those with a "reasonable excuse" which include those moving home, attending a funeral, meeting for necessary work purposes, providing childcare or providing emergency assistance.
