Free Fibre Upgrades during Lockdown

DURBAN - Vumatel has announced that they are currently working with multiple Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to increase fibre internet speeds for free.

This upgrade will take place from April 1 until May 31 for existing fibre customers.

Simon Butler, Vumatel CCO, said, "We have a responsibility to make it easier for people to stay connected as they navigate the next few weeks of working and learning from home."

Customers will be upgraded to the next line speed available to them however those customers who have a 1GBPS line will not qualify for the upgrade as this is the highest line speed available.

The lines will be upgraded as listed below:-

10MBPS to increase to 20MBPS

20MBPS to increase to 50MBPS

50MBPS to increase to 100MBPS

100MBPS to increase to 200MBPS

200MBPS to increase to 1GBPS

1GBPS will receive no increase

Internet service providers such as MyBroadband, RSAWEB, Afrihost, Axxess, Webafrica, Cool Ideas, and MWEB have confirmed that they will be offering these upgrades from April 1.
