International Travel: What SA can expect during summer holidays

CAPE TOWN -

In the hopes of reviving the tourism industry, international leisure travel has reopened and the various sectors within the travel industry are looking forward to capitalising on the summer holidays.

Western Cape Transport MEC, Bonginkosi Madikizela, said that while the tourism industry has welcomed the reopening of the country’s borders and ports, everyone needs to adhere to the safety rules to prevent a second spike.

“We’ve been watching what’s been happening in the US and UK with keen interest, and it is really worrying for us to see a second wave because they are our biggest tourist countries.

“We are really waiting with bated breath to monitor what’s happening there, but we must find innovative ways to deal with this,” said Madikizela.
