#Lockdown social media challenges to try

The latest social media craze, sweeping across Instagram and twitter is the ‘Until Tomorrow’ challenge. To take part in this challenge, all you have to do is post an old, embarrassing picture of yourself and leave it on your profile for 24 hours.

DURBAN – While the streets outside your window remain empty, Insta streets are buzzing with activity thanks to the increase of social media challenges.

In the past few weeks, the toilet paper keep up challenge has been sweeping across social media. Participants of the challenge had to post a video successfully doing keep ups like you would with a football – but with a roll of toilet paper and once they had done that, they tag three friends to do the same.

The latest social media craze, sweeping across Instagram and twitter is the ‘Until Tomorrow’ challenge. To take part in this challenge, all you have to do is post an old, embarrassing picture of yourself and leave it on your profile for 24 hours.

To keep the trend going, you’re then meant to message everyone (or, whoever you actually speak to) that liked your picture. The next person then has to do the same thing to keep the ball rolling.

Here are some trends going around at the moment, and over the past few years as well:

  • The push up challenge: you have to take a video of yourself doing 10 push ups in a row, then tag three people to do the same
  • Bottle Cap challenge: the bottle cap challenge saw people posting videos of themselves kicking off the cap on a bottle without knocking it over
  • The Dolly Parton challenge: Dolly Parton started the LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Tinder challenge, posting a variety of photos of herself – and people quickly caught on
  • Throwback Thursday: the hashtag #ThrowbackThursday see’s people posting old, more nostalgic pictures of themselves onto the social media platform
