Parents who would like to remove their children from school for the rest of the year,2020, should consider a few things.

New dates for Western Cape admissions outcome following Covid-19 disruptions

CAPE TOWN –With the academic here disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic and so is the school enrolment application process for the year 2021.

Parents who applied for their children to attend Western Cape Schools in 2021 earlier this year had expected to hear the outcome of their applications from this weekend. The most affected students are those going into entry-level grades, such as grade R,1 and 8.

The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) announced revised the dates on which parents can expect to hear the outcome of their applications.

“Parents will be informed of the outcome by email or by SMS between 12 June and 22 June 2020.

If their child has been offered a place at a school in this time, parents will need to confirm their acceptance of this place by 3 July 2020. We urge parents to accept their spaces timeously, to assist us in finding spaces for unplaced learners.

“Should a parent receive an offer of a place after 3 July, they need to confirm their acceptance within three days,” the WCED said.
