CAPE TOWN- South Africa’s Covid-19 death toll has reached 103, an increase of 10. Infections now stand at 5350 an increase of 354, making it the highest number of cases recorded within a 24 hour period.
Health minister Zweli Mkhize said that 3 of the deaths are from Gauteng, 4 from the Western Cape, 2 from KwaZulu-Natal and one from the Eastern Cape.
Mkhize conveyed his condolences as one of the deceased patients was a registered nurse who worked for the Department of Health.
Two of the deceased include women under the age of 40 with only one having a comorbidity.
The total number of tests conducted to date is 197 127, of which 11 630 were done in the last 24 hours.
