SA hits 1170 coronavirus cases

CAPE TOWN- Coronavirus infections in South Africa have increased to 1170 confirmed cases. Minister in the Presidency Jackson Mthembu made the announcement on behalf of Health Minister Zweli Mkhize.

Mthembu confirmed the latest numbers at a media briefing this evening. Day 1 of the 21-day lockdown saw the first death resulting from Covid-19.

In the Western Cape there has been one confirmed death related to coronavirus and one other is suspected but yet to be confirmed.
