CAPE TOWN- A renowned South African director and producer together with a young group of musicians and have recorded an original song to drive an important messaging around Covid-19.
The original song titled ‘Help Us‘ was composed by South African Uni-Cultural Foundation’s (SAUCF) Gordon Padayachee, and performed by musicians from the foundation and other artists.
Padayachee, who is also currently the Head of Percussion of the South African Navy Band, said that the song was created in line with the current world situation and that it represents the foundation’s contribution to the fight against Covid-19.
“My intention was to get the youth actively involved from working within their confined spaces and experimenting with new ideas. This song is a call that effects us all,” he said.
‘Help Us‘ is the first original song composed by Padayachee. He says that the global pandemic has affected people from all walks of life.
“This is reality and it has really changed our lives.”
The Foundation is a registered non-profit company and was established 2018 with a group of 24 youth who were interested in sharing their talents and networking with youth from all walks of life. It provides a platform for youth development and empowerment.
