CAPE TOWN - Springbok players and coaches got together on Thursday to pack food parcels in efforts to alleviate the hunger of that in-need as part of their #StrongerTogether for R32-12 campaign.

The campaign's initiative is to alleviate hunger in South Africa during the pandemic by working closely with two initiatives - Food Forward SA and Gift of the Givers.

On Thursday, 8 Springboks (Siya Kholisi, coaches Jacques Nienaber and Mzwandile Stick, Pieter-Steph du Toit, Bongi Mbonambi, Steven Kitshoff, Siviwe Soyizwapi and Zintle Mpupha) visited the Food Forward SA facility to assist with the packing of food parcels.

The #StrongerTogether for R32-12 campaign doesn’t stop there though, as a raffle is being held with some of the Springboks prized possessions up for grabs with all proceeds donated to the Food Forward SA and Gift of the Givers initiatives.

The Springboks campaign got its name from the 32-12 win over England in the Rugby World Cup final last year, with Siya Kholisi saying the inspiration comes from the unity of the country in the moment of the final and that uniting once again is what the country needs right now.

To help support the cause, purchasing a raffle ticket helps those in-need and costing only R32.12 could win you World Cup memorabilia such as a worn match jersey of Kholisi, Faf de Klerk’s SA undies, or even an RWC Trophy Tour in your own home.
