Travel between provinces now allowed

CAPE TOWN - President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that the entire country will be moving over to alert level 2 with an easing on restrictions and regulations including traveling between provinces .

The move to lockdown level 2 also permits the visiting of family and friends but only in small groups with accommodation, hospitality venues and tours given the green-light too but with health and safety protocols to ensure safe physical distancing.

The president announced that the current restrictions on international travel remain in place and so does the current curfew from 10 pm to 4 am.

President Cyril Ramaphosa urged South Africans to travel only when necessary saying "We must continue to limit our travel to only that which is absolutely necessary, to avoid social gatherings and to remember to regularly wash or sanitise our hands."
