VIDEO : 5 Innovative ideas during #SALockdown

CAPE TOWN - A great idea or opportunity can come at any time, even amid a global pandemic such as the Covid-19 outbreak we currently face. South African’s are known for their creativity, resilience, and ability to hustle during tough times. Here, we highlight five innovative ideas citizens came up with to get them through the 21-day national lockdown.

1 - Pride Fighting Academy in Gardens, Cape Town, came up with the idea of ‘Gym in a box’, which is a set of equipment you’ll need to perform workouts in the comfort of your home. And, members can continue to stay in shape using the equipment and logging on to their portal and social media pages for free workouts.

2 - Paradiso Academy is hosting free virtual Salsa, Bachata and Kizomba dance classes by their head instructor, Regan Christmas, live on their Facebook in the evenings from 19:15.

3 - Young Noa started up a YouTube channel which she uses to read Afrikaans stories to young kids at home.

4 - The Two Oceans Aquarium kicked off their virtual classes with their Marine Biology course.

5 - The National Arts Festival wanted to continue supporting local artists and decided to entertain viewers through platforms such as Instagram and Facebook Live, their website and other virtual applications.
