CAPE TOWN - Non-profit Organisation Cupcakes of Hope runs an annual event in efforts to raise funds for families fighting childhood cancer with the campaign going digital this year.

The organisation aims to assist children and families in the fight against childhood cancer by raising awareness and funds through the love of baking.

Every year the organisation hosts a fundraising campaign to help with medical treatments and related expenses for over 100 families in South Africa but due to the pandemic, the campaign will be hosted a little differently.

The Cupcakes 4 Kids with Cancer will be hosting their #BakeADifference campaign virtually with the Founder of Cupcakes of Hope, Sandy Cipriano saying, “With the risks associated with this pandemic, and having been personally affected by the devastating consequence of Covid-19, we have made the decision to continue our #bakeadifference campaign digitally.”

Malls throughout South Africa usually support the cause by offering space inside their malls for the Cupcake Angels to sell their cupcakes but with the event switching to a safer alternative, malls continue to support by allowing those who wish to take part and donate by ordering virtual cupcakes online from your local mall on Cupcakes of Hope website.

There are various virtual cupcakes you can order with varying amounts such as Vanilla (R25), Strawberry (R50), Chocolate (R100), Caramel (R500) or Fantasy (R1000) Cupcake, or you could customise your order with a customised donation.

For further information on the campaign and how else you could be a part of Cupcakes of Hope's dream to help the lives of families and children fighting the battle against cancer visit the website.
