Covid-19 cases jump to 1462 in SA

CAPE TOWN- South Africa now has 1462 confirmed Covid-19 cases Health minister Zweli Mkhize announced on Thursday night.

Mkhize made the announcement at a media briefing at Universitas Hospital in Bloemfontein.

There have been 5 deaths recorded in South Africa, however Mkhize said the department is still waiting to verify two deaths which could have been Covid-19 related. The Department of Health will provide clarification on the numbers on Friday.

Mkhize said that around 45 people have recovered and that the recoveries "will catch up with time".
