Lion’s Head reopens for hikers

CAPE TOWN –The Lion’s Head summit has reopened after it was closed three months ago due to visitors not complying with Covid-19 lockdown regulations.

SANParks, who announced the reopening of the popular hiking destination, said that the number of visitors will be limited and that rangers will be positioned at various entry points to ensure everyone complies with the Covid-19 regulations.

These protocols have been put in place:

  • Social distancing by at least 1.5m must be maintained at all times,
  • Users accessing the summit must wear their masks at all times. No mask, no entry,
  • Users are to sanitize their hands before and after making use of the staples/ladder and or chain area of Lions Head,
  • Picnicking and gathering in social groups is not allowed.
