CAPE TOWN – English football fans can breathe a sigh of relief as the Premier League looks to restart the season on June 1.
The Covid-19 pandemic has caused disruptions to all sporting calenders but it appears that big sporting bodies are slowly retaking shape.
ESPN reported that the United Kingdom government published a 50-page document titled “Our Plan to Rebuild: The UK Government’s COVID-19 Recovery Strategy,” this includes “permitting cultural and sporting events to take place behind closed doors for broadcast.”
Clubs are already back at training and await on the government’s social distancing guidelines as they prepare to play the remaining 92 Premier League fixtures.
