South Africans have headed the call to wear face masks when out of the house, and have opted to do so in style.

The national Level 4 lockdown regulations state that South Africans must wear a cloth face mask, homemade item or “another appropriate item” that covers the nose and mouth once they leave the house.

The purpose of the mask is to help contain the spread of the coronavirus by reducing the droplets that come out of the mouth or nose when sneezing, coughing or speaking.
